The Copper Fox Studio

How do I take care of my tattoo?
-
First, wash your hands thoroughly with mild soap and water and dry your hands with clean paper towels. No cloth towels!
-
If using the adhesive bandage, remove after 24 hours. If wrapped in saran wrap, remove after 1-2 hours.
-
Using warm water and antibacterial soap, such as Dial Gold, gently wash your tattoo. Do not scrub.
-
Using clean paper towel, pat the tattoo dry. Do not rub. Do not use a cloth towel.
-
Wash the tattoo and dry the first two days, at least twice a day, until the tattoo begins to get dry and tight.
-
At this point, begin to use an unscented white lotion such as Lubriderm on your tattoo after washing or whenever tattoo is dry.
-
Do not scratch or pick at the tattoo during the healing period, allow scab material to fall off naturally.
-
Generally, tattoos take 2 weeks to fully heal, so during that time do not expose your healing tattoo to direct sunlight, or submerge it in water like a pool, bath, hot tub, or ocean.
-
After your tattoo is healed, it is recommended you apply a high SPF sunscreen to your tattoo when exposing it to direct sunlight in order to preserve the detail and give longevity to your tattoo.
-
If for any reason you suspect an infection, please notify the studio and immediately seek medical attention.
